ViewSonic® Unplugs the Office PC with Launch of UK's First
Wireless Monitor for Business
The airpanel 100, running WindowsCE.NET, provides enterprise and vertical application users with pen or soft keyboard input, and expandable 802.11b wireless LAN connectivity
ViewSonic® Corporation, a worldwide Visual Technologies™ leader, has today launched the airpanel 100, the UK's first wireless monitor based on WindowsCE.NET. The new wireless monitor enables business users to literally unplug their monitors and walk away from their desks their desks with always-on devices that provide instant wireless access to information on their office PC, corporate servers or the web.
The airpanel 100, with pen and soft keyboard input, combines full screen viewing with mobile access to e-mail, web and server-based applications over wireless LAN or wireless WAN connections.
Featuring a high luminance SVGA TFT 10-inch touch screen and 800 x 600 (0.5 mega pixels) resolution, the airpanel 100 offers a rich visual experience. The wireless monitor works in both portrait or landscape orientations and can be expanded via a USB port and two expansion slots for optional 802.11b wireless LAN and/or WAN access or data storage cards. In addition it comes equipped with a built-in full duplex microphone and speaker, and jacks for headphones and microphone.
The idea of wireless access to corporate applications isn't new, but being able to transition seamlessly from your desktop to a mobile working environment where keyboard input may be inconvenient has been more of an aspiration than a reality, said Aaron Fright, European Product Marketing Manager, ViewSonic Europe. The ViewSonic airpanel 100 gives business users a completely consistent user experience regardless of location and input method.

Availability
The airpanel 100 will be available in the UK from the end of September through authorised ViewSonic value-added resellers (VARs), distributors. The device is backed by a two-year limited warranty on parts and labour.
