ViewSonic to demonstrate Smart Displays, LCD TVs, Video Processors and a Pocket PC device at CeBIT 2003
ViewSonic® Corporation, a worldwide Visual Technologies™ leader, today announced that it will be demonstrating several new product lines at CeBIT 2003 (Hall 21, Stand B57), including consumer Smart Displays, a line of LCD TV's and video processor boxes, as well as a Pocket PC device. CeBIT will be the first European show to feature these new devices.
For the first time, at CeBIT, European consumers will be able to see the benefits of being able to access their PC on a wireless display from any room in their home. The airpanel V110 and V150 Smart Displays, 10" and 15" respectively, are wireless touch screen monitors that allow consumers to access the Web on the sofa, check the news in bed or balance their budget at the kitchen table. The airpanel V110 and V150 run on Microsoft Windows CE for Smart Display operating system, have a 400MHz Intel Xscale processor, 32MB ROM, 64MB SDRAM and a long-life battery.
The company will also be demonstrating new home entertainment products for the European market. Its new LCD TV products consist of two distinct lines: ViewSonic's N series, integrated LCD TVs with built in TV tuners; and ViewSonic's VT series, displays which combine the functionality of an LCD and the visual performance of a TV with a built in video processor. ViewSonic will also be introducing its NextVision video processors - high definition video processors that enable consumers to extend the use of their display products to multiple forms of digital entertainment, including high definition TV (HDTV).
The first of the N series to be brought to the European market at CeBIT will be the N1700w - a 17" wide-screen high definition LCD-TV. The N1700w will allow users to view all forms of digital and analogue content, including compatibility with HDTV receivers and set top boxes. It also brings to the home smart features such as the ability to process other popular entertainment formats - digital camera, camcorder, video, games, Internet entertainment and superior DVD viewing from any PC or DVD player.
The initial model to be launched from the VT series will be the VT550: a 15" display designed to be both a multimedia monitor and a high resolution LCD TV. The VT550 will have features such as integrated stereo speakers, an external headphone jack, internal and external microphone connectors, as well as 1024x768 resolution and an UltraBrite™ panel providing up to 500 nits of brightness.
ViewSonic will also be introducing the Pocket PC V35, which operates on the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 software platform and is the smallest, lightest and lowest priced Pocket PC running the very latest processor based on the Intel® XScale technology. The Pocket PC V35 provides business customers and general consumers with a rich and familiar user interface and an enhanced personal information manager, as well as the ability to retrieve e-mail, play music, read e-books and watch video. In addition to this broad assortment of applications, ViewSonic will ship a custom Microsoft PowerPoint® file viewer and a digital image viewer application with the Pocket PC V35.
