VIEWSONIC CUTS THE CORD IN HOME COMPUTING WITH AVAILABILITY OF AIRPANEL SMART DISPLAY.
airpanel V110, V150 Smart Displays Extend Home Desktop; Deliver Freedom of Computing Antyime, Anywhere


ViewSonic^® Corp., a worldwide Visual Technologies^™ leader, today announced immediate availability of its airpanel^™ V110 and V150 Smart Displays that enable anywhere, anytime mobile connectivity to a PC in the home.

The airpanel V110 and V150 Smart Displays, 10-inches and 15-inches respectively, are wireless touch screen monitors intended for remote mobile use throughout the home, while the 15-inch V150 has the additional capability of serving as the primary desktop monitor. Both airpanel Smart Displays will be offered with everything the consumer needs to get the devices up and running right out of the box, including integrated wireless 802.11 Wi-FiTM, a USB wireless adapter solution and an upgrade to the Microsoft^® Windows XP Professional operating system.

Both Smart Displays feature a high luminance, full-color, touch screen display based on Windows CE for Smart Displays technology and interoperability with Windows XP Professional on a home PC. In addition, both include a 400MHz Intel^® XScale^™ technology-based processor for added speed, power savings and efficiency, 32MB of ROM Flash memory, 64MB SDRAM and built in 802.11b wireless technology for easy wireless access to a home PC. The long-life battery lasts up to 4 hours.

The airpanel V110 and V150 are currently available. For consumers who are already using XP Professional and who have their own wireless access point, ViewSonic will offer an airpanel Smart Display without those items included in the box later in the second quarter.

These airpanel Smart Displays have been exhibited at Comdex last November where the airpanel V150 won the Best of Comdex Award and at International CES 2003 early January this year. In addition, Bill Gates, Microsoft chairman and chief software architect, spotlighted the airpanel V110 and V150 Smart Displays in his keynote speech at both shows.
