VIEWSONIC BRINGS HIGH RESOLUTION TV TO YOUR PC

Launches two new combination LCD TV / computer displays

Continuing its commitment to offering customers more versatile and affordable displays,  ViewSonic® Corp., a worldwide Visual Technologies leader, today introduced two new lines of LCD TVs - the VT and NextVision N series - that allow consumers to converge their computer and television into a single, compact multifunctional entertainment system.

The first models to be available in Europe - the VT550 and the N1700w - extend the use of a PC display to multiple forms of digital entertainment, including high quality, high resolution TV, DVD, video and games consoles such as the Sony Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Microsoft X-Box.

"Home entertainment systems and consumer electronics are increasingly converging with computers and the Internet," said Christopher Franey, Managing Director ViewSonic Europe. "Consumers want multifunctional displays that allow them to have the best of all worlds - without taking up all the space in the house. ViewSonic's new LCD TVs fulfill this need, and offer high performance viewing of virtually any home entertainment system."

VT SERIES
The space-saving 15" VT550 has been designed for use as a fully featured multimedia computer display that can switch over to a high resolution TV at the touch of a button The VT550 offers 1024x768 resolution and an UltraBrite panel, providing up to 500 nits of brightness. Features include integrated stereo speakers, an external head phone jack and internal and external microphone connectors. The unit also comes with a ViewSonic N5 video processor, which delivers high-end video features that enhance image quality, such as precision de-interlacing, 3:2 pull down, multiple video signal inputs, RGB computer pass-through, stereo audio pass-through, an on-screen control menu and a sleep function mode.

N SERIES
The wide-screen 17" N1700w offers consumers all the benefits of a flat screen multimedia computer display, but allows home cinema-style viewing, accompanied by a powerful 20 watt sound system.

The silver and black N1700w also offers 1280x768 resolution, brightness of up to 450 nits and features a 16:9 ratio, enabling widescreen and picture-in-picture (PIP) viewing.  The display also features an impressive 10 watts per channel audio system that delivers an audio experience comparable with a hi-fi separates system. The unit also incorporates a TV tuner module, delivering high-end video benefits including precision de-interlacing, 3:2 pull down, multiple video signal inputs, RGB computer pass through, stereo audio pass-through, an on-screen control menu, and a sleep function mode.

Each product in ViewSonic's innovative lines of LCD TV products can support enhanced definition television (EDTV). The N1700w also supports high definition (HDTV) inputs of 720p and 1080i.  All systems include a 181-channel tuner with parental control and closed caption viewing, remote control, composite video and the ability to easily connect to DVD players, VCRs, camcorders and high-resolution game consoles.  Both ViewSonic LCD TV displays are backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts, labour and backlight.
