ViewSonic brings world’s highest resolution monitor to its European LCD line-up

Following the success of the American launch, ViewSonic Europe today confirms the availability of the VP2290b for the European market: A 9.2 mega pixel (27.2 million RGB dots) LCD display that produces photo-like images for use in applications requiring resolution intensive work, where clarity is essential. These include medical reference, engineering design, digital content creation, satellite image analysis, and film editing and restoration.

The VP2290b delivers a breathtaking ten times the pixel density of typical LCD displays. With a density of 204 pixels per inch and a resolution format up to 3840 x 2400 QUXGA, the 22.2-inch VP2290b offers the highest resolution currently available in the world. Engineered for ultimate performance, the display also features a wide-screen format that allows desktop professionals to display two-full pages simultaneously, along with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 235-nits of high brightness, and a 400:1 contrast ratio.

A broad color gamut of 16.7 million colors, combined with 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles and pure digital interface, ensures spectacular crystal clear images with true color consistency from edge-to edge. With this outstanding performance, the VP2290b is currently the only LCD monitor conforming to ITU 709, the global HDTV standard. It comes with a standard anti-glare coating avoiding glare on the screen in any lighting situation.

Working with a wide range of professional cards, including the latest Matrox Parhelia HR256, the VP2290b is fully compatible with the major working stations used for highest demanding applications.

“As computer and imaging sciences become more complex, professionals require more advanced tools to continue the creation and analysis processes,” said Haavard Foseid, Director Business Development ViewSonic Europe. “The VP2290b meets these needs by displaying true-to-life images, along with providing the technology that can speed progress on applications like product design, geographic mapping and the detection of human ailments.”
The VP2290b is backed by a three-year warranty on parts and labour.
