Worldwide Recognition from Industry Influencers Endorses Quality, Innovation and Excellence
ViewSonic® Corp. today announced it received more than 400 awards from independent publications and organizations during 2003, reaffirming the company’s worldwide leadership in visual display products. Throughout the year, ViewSonic products, people and programs averaged more than one award and recommendation a day for the highest annual total in the company’s history. Recognition came on a worldwide scale with the company having received more than 200 awards and recommendations throughout Europe and the Middle East, more than 150 across the Asia Pacific region and more than 60 in North America.
“These awards showcase our long-standing commitment to exceeding customer expectations for product innovation, technical excellence and quality around the globe,” said James Chu, chairman and CEO, ViewSonic. “This dramatic increase in accolades mirrors the dynamic market share growth we are currently achieving across the Asia Pacific region, along with our continued success throughout Europe and North America.” Influential consumer and technology media outlets such as Consumer’s Digest, Consumer Reports, PC Magazine and PC World awarded ViewSonic top product recommendations, including “Best Buy,” “Best New Product” and “Editor’s Choice.” Most recently, two ViewSonic products earned top spots in their respective categories in Computer Shopper’s list of the “Top 100 Products of 2003.”
International highlights include a “Product of the Year” award from PC World Belgium, as well as a “Best Buy” from Personal Computer World in the United Kingdom. Key publications across Asia, including Asia Computer Weekly, China Computer World, CHIP, PC 2000 and PC Magazine Singapore also recognized ViewSonic products as “Best Buy,” “Editor’s Choice” and “Products of the Year.” In addition, PC Week Taiwan awarded ViewSonic with the title of “2003 Glamorous Brand” in the LCD category.
One of ViewSonic’s most popular products, the NextVision N1700w LCD TV, received a total of 15 awards. The 17-inch widescreen display was named “Editor’s Choice” by PC Magazine, PC Buyer Hong Kong and Computer DIY Taiwan, along with “Best Buy” by PC World Belgium. In addition, the display received at least four out of five stars from 13 different publications globally. Several corporate awards were bestowed upon ViewSonic for its programs and services. The company was named “Best CRT Vendor” and its channel programs were recognized with a “Resellers' Choice Award” by Canadian Dealer News. The Los Angeles Business Journal recognized ViewSonic as one of the “Top 20 L.A. Minority Owned Businesses” and placed it on its “100 Largest Private Companies” list. Chairman and CEO, James Chu, was named a Finalist for “2003 Best Executive” by the American Business Awards, and Vice President of Sales, Jeff Volpe, was listed as a “Channel Chief” by CMP Media’s CRN, acknowledging his leadership of the company’s effective channel partner programs and strategies.
