Reorganization Elevates Executive Leadership to Drive Global Vision
ViewSonic® Corp. today announced a series of executive appointments designed to extend its global leadership and leverage the individual strengths of its geographic regions. As part of a company-wide restructuring, ViewSonic has named Christopher Franey president of ViewSonic Americas (VSA) and Jeff Volpe vice president of marketing for VSA, while Mel Taylor will act as president for ViewSonic Europe. The individuals will provide strategic direction and foster new business development to help the company become the preferred global provider of visual display products.
“These appointments will help ViewSonic execute key objectives in its regions to help us extend our brand in both the business-to-business and consumer markets, and grow our reputation as an industry leader,” said James Chu, ViewSonic chairman and CEO.
As president of VSA, Franey will transition from his current position as president of ViewSonic Europe, to oversee all sales, marketing and operational functions in the United States, Canada and Latin America. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and operations management within the technology sector and has held numerous senior-level positions during his 11-year tenure with ViewSonic.
As vice president of marketing for VSA, Volpe will leverage his 18 years of experience in the technology sector. He has been with ViewSonic since 1996 and most recently was the vice president of sales for VSA, overseeing all sales activities within the United States, Canada and Latin America. In his tenure, Volpe also served as vice president of the Business Products Division, managing the company's reseller, distribution and enterprise operations in the United States and Canada, and as senior director of Canada, establishing the division and growing revenues to significantly to position ViewSonic as a market leader.
Taylor will add the duties of acting president for ViewSonic Europe to his current responsibilities as vice president and director of marketing for the region. Prior to joining ViewSonic Taylor worked for Fujitsu Siemens as director of marketing and for StorageTek as European marketing director. His extensive experience includes channel and business development, product management, strategic planning, and profit and loss management.
To round out ViewSonic’s regional leadership team, Middle Lin will continue his role as president of ViewSonic Asia Pacific, managing day-to-day operations in the region. Lin is a 20-year technology veteran and has helped ViewSonic’s Asia Pacific achieve significant growth, including establishing the company as the regional leader in LCD market share in 2003.
