Cross-over projector from ViewSonic:
New projector model for business presentations and home entertainment.
With the PJ502 projector, ViewSonic, a worldwide leader in visual display products, sets its sights on the cross-over user. This fast-growing target group prefers easily-transportable projectors that offer two-fold functionality. Firstly, projectors must be capable of performing during the week on the business circuit. And secondly, equipped with video interfaces, they must be ready to provide a large format, home entertainment experience back at home on weekends, when friends or family drop by.
The PJ502 cuts a great physical form. It features an attractively styled silver housing, a footprint roughly the size of an A4 sheet and it tips the scales at just 2.4 kg. With a true resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA), contrast ratio of 400:1 and an imposing 1,600 ANSI lumens brightness, it produces large displays of up to 7.6 metres (diagonal). Application of Progressive Scan Video technology and noise reduction means that users are assured steady, flicker-free views. Besides PC, notebook and S-Video connections, the PJ502 also has component plus composite video inputs and can even handle HDTV signals. Despite its high performance potential, it remains pleasantly quiet at only 33 decibels (merely 29dB in whisper mode).
Thanks to digital keystone correction and manual zoom, image adjustments for the optimal view are quickly made. In addition, the overscan feature ensures that all incoming image signals – such as those from a DVD – are displayed without loss.
Installation of the projector is child’s play: the press of a button is all it takes. Settings can be adjusted in comfort using the intuitive on-screen menu. And the integrated 165 watt bulb has a lamp life of up to 4,000 hours in whisper mode – therefore enough for more than 2,600 movies of average length.
ViewSonic offers an exceptionally generous three year warranty, with an on-site exchange service included. In the case of a necessary repair, the PJ502 owner needn’t wait as is often the case elsewhere. In most instances, a replacement projector will be provided within 48 hours. This level of service is currently offered by virtually no other manufacturer.
The PJ502 will be available at specialist dealers and e-tailers. It is shipped with a remote control and soft carry bag.
