Press Release
January, 2005Entry level projector from ViewSonic lands at an attractive price:
With the PJ400 projector, View Sonic, a worldwide leader in visual display products, presents an LCD projector for the entry-level segment. Its high performance attributes, special equipment and ease of use make it an excellent choice for home cinema as well as business to business and education applications.
Thanks to a strong performance of 1,600 ANSI lumens, the PJ400 ensures bright and contrast-rich images. The 2.2kg model features a native resolution of 800 x 600 and a 300:1 contrast ratio, producing razor-sharp projections in natural, vivid colour. And while its performance level is high, at just 38dB (or 33dB in whisper mode), fan noise is pleasantly low.
Due to the use of progressive scan technology, 3:2 pull down and a special suppression of image noise, users are assured steady, flicker-free images. Besides ports for the PC and notebook, the PJ400 features S-video, component and composite connectors, facilitating options such as DV players, game consoles and digital video cameras. This model also handles HDTV signals without a problem.
Digital keystone correction, a short focal length, digital zoom function and 4:3/16:9 format selection assure the correct proportions and optimal display in virtually any venue.
With its auto-adjust function, installing the projector is easy – even for technical novices. In addition, settings can be adjusted manually via the convenient and intuitive menu. Lamp life of the integrated 165 watt bulb is rated at 4,000 hours in whisper mode. That’s enough for 2,600 normal length feature films.
ViewSonic offers an exceptionally generous three year warranty, which includes an on-site exchange service over the entire warranty period. In most instances, a replacement projector will be provided within 48 hours.
The PJ400 will be available from £539 including VAT at specialist dealers and e-tailers. It is shipped with a remote control, a set of connector cables and a detailed handbook.
