ViewSonic LCD Sales grow 58% during third quarter of 2006


28th November 2006 - ViewSonic, a worldwide leader in the field of visual technologies has further grown its market position throughout the third quarter. Taking advantage of the 46% growth rate in Europe and a Top 5 global position achieved during Q2, the brand continued and further improved its growth results with 58% YOY growth within the LCD sector during Q3.  These results further consolidated the brands worldwide position and established the company as the fastest growing brand in the market.

The company now ranks number 8 in the total Visual Display market in EMEA* - up from number 9 in Q2 - and number 8, up 2 places in the total LCD market in the region. Similar results were registered on the branded LCD market, where the company moved one place up to number 6.

The most significant market share increases were registered in large size branded LCD models.

In the 20-inch category, ViewSonic enters top 3 for the whole region with a share close to 11% vs. rank 4 and 9.7% at the end of Q2. ViewSonic is now ranked in the Top 5 in more than 15 European countries, including number 1 position in Finland, Greece, and UK.

Following the successful introduction of ViewSonic 22-inch LCD monitors, ViewSonic is ranked  number 2 with almost 10% market share – including number 1 position in Finland, Greece and MEA, and number 2 in the Czech Republic (10.6%) and Italy (13.7%).

The progress of ViewSonic across Europe includes significant increases in local countries as shown by the figures below.

Local development: Branded LCD displays (3rd quarter 06 vs. 2nd quarter 06):
In Greece, ViewSonic has consolidated its 4th place ranking with a market share increase of 1.5% to exceed 13% share. The company holds number 1 position in the 20-inch and 22-inch categories, with market shares above 80% and 94% respectively. In Russia, the ViewSonic nearly doubled the market share from 5.3%% to 10.1%, climbing from 6th to 4th place – moving up one place to number 3 in the 20-inch category and further progressing in the 21-inch category. In a similar move, ViewSonic more than doubled its market share in the Baltics, reaching 7.1% and 3rd place up from 6th.

Further to these excellent results, ViewSonic has entered the Top 10 in the Czech Republic, with rank 4 up from 7 and nearly 10% market share for 20-inch, and ranking 2 with over 10% market share for 22-inch. A similar result was experienced in Poland, where the company ranks number 2 with almost 35% market share in the 22-inch category.

Top 10 has also been reached in Spain, including position 3 with more than 10% market share for 20-inch, and position 6 for 19-inch. In the UK, ViewSonic is now the market leader in the 20-inch category and holds second place for 22-inch.
