ViewSonic – the fastest growing LCD monitor company worldwide with 46% growth during the second quarter of 2006
ViewSonic moves into the global top five of LCD display manufacturers
ViewSonic, a worldwide leader in the field of visual technologies has significantly expanded its international market share this year. The company climbed from 7th place in the first quarter to 5th place in Q2, achieving a market share of 5.5%. With a growth rate of 46%, ViewSonic outpaced the industry’s leading brands. The company has capitalised on the new widescreen category with a growth of 336% vs. Q1 with 19” widescreen monitors. In the United States, ViewSonic was the number one branded LCD manufacturer with a growth of 60%, over 8% ahead of number 2*.
In Europe, a mature market, ViewSonic also experienced significant gains. In Western Europe, the company moved from number 10 to number 9 in the branded LCD market** while in Central and Eastern Europe ViewSonic has climbed up 3 places, from 10 to 7.
In a significant number of European markets, ViewSonic has increased its market share in other highly-competitive markets. The individual figures are shown below.

In Finland, ViewSonic is now in 2nd place with a market share of almost 20%, improving from 4th place and 15.4%. ViewSonic in Sweden has managed to capture over a fifth of the total market (21.7%) and move to the top position in the country. In Greece, ViewSonic now ranks in 4th place with a market share of almost 12%. Great news also comes from the ViewSonic team in Russia who more than doubled their market share from 2.4% to 5.3%, climbing from 8th to 6th place.
