ViewSonic Europe launches new digital signage solution
IP-enabled cost-effective network display removes the PC from the equation
30 January 2007 – ViewSonic, a worldwide leader in visual display products, unveiled today a new digital signage solution: the 42-inch LCD network display ND4210w.
ViewSonic’s innovative digital signage solution eliminates the need for an external PC and integrates seamlessly with existing enterprise IP networks to enable easy distribution of a variety of different media to any screen. Ideal for industries with multiple signage locations such as retail, leisure, transportation and global corporations, it allows users to store content on the display's internal hard drive and manage content remotely.

Centred round the 42-inch ND4210w LCD network display, the solution includes a fully-featured Mozilla Web browser and high-definition video processing capabilities, able to stream video and HTML content in real-time via Ethernet at up to 20 MB per second, without needing a separate PC to convert the signal. The network display’s internal 40GB hard drive supports local playback of digital media content, while its support of HTML authoring tools – Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver and Frontpage and many more – remove the complexity and cost of proprietary digital signage solutions.
Interactive applications using IDS technology can also be developed to create an Interactive Digital Signage system, enabling consumers to interact with screen content via a whole range of devices including mobile phone, PDA, networked PCs etc.
For existing digital signage installations, ViewSonic also offers a set-top box, the NMP-500 Network Media Player, which IP-enables existing displays to deliver all the benefits of the ND4210w network display.
The ND4210w HD LCD network display is available through authorised ViewSonic resellers.
