ViewSonic Fastest Growing Display Brand in EMEA during Last Quarter of 2006
The n°1 independent provider of display products registered 65% growth within the LCD segment

9 March 2007 – ViewSonic, a worldwide leader in the field of visual technologies, has further consolidated its market position throughout the fourth quarter of 2006, exceeding its records of the previous quarters (46% growth during Q2 and 58% YOY growth during Q3).  These results contributed to the worldwide growth announced by ViewSonic Corporation for the year 2006 – globally 1.6 billion dollars revenue up from 1.2 billion in 2005 and over 38 million units shipped.

Considering the whole of 2006, the company now ranks number 7 in the branded LCD market in the region, up 2 places from number 9 at the end of 2005.

Following the trend identified in the third quarter of 2006, the most significant market share increases were registered again in large size branded LCD models – including wide formats.

In the 22-inch wide category, ViewSonic succeeded in nearly doubling market share during the last quarter – 19.2% vs. 9.8% in Q3 - to rank number 2 for the whole 2006 with a yearly market share of almost 17%. This includes positions within the Top 3 in more than 15 EMEA countries, number 1 position in the total LCD market in Finland, Greece, Norway, Estonia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom as well as number 1 branded in Spain (>60%).

As for the 19-inch wide category, ViewSonic reaches the Top 3 at the end of 2006, with Top position in the total market in Sweden (>25%),  Greece (>35%) and Estonia (>50%), and a number 2 in the branded market in Poland (>18%), Russia and Ukraine.

The progress of ViewSonic across Europe includes significant increases in local countries as shown by the figures below.

Local development: Branded LCD displays (end of year 06 vs. end of year 05)*:
In Greece, ViewSonic has climbed up to 4th place from rank 7, nearly tripling its market share to reach 12% throughout the year. Beyond its number 1 position for 19-inch and 22-inch wide categories, ViewSonic consolidated its leading position in the 20-inch traditional segment with more than 84% market share, and moved up to number 2 in 23-inch category, with more than 15% market share vs. less than 2% at the end of 2005. In Russia, the ViewSonic team further holds 5th place, with Top 3 positions in the 19-inch wide, 20-inch, 21-inch, 22-inch wide and 23-inch categories.  A similar evolution was registered in Ukraine in the same markets segments, complementing the company’s leadership in the 22-inch wide market.

In countries showing great progress in the previous quarter, the company succeeded in further consolidating its results: In the Czech Republic, ViewSonic achieved rank 9 - up 5 places from 14 – with a remarkable rank 2 and 26.6% in 22-inch wide throughout the year, supported by a 30% share and number 1 ranking in this category in Q4 2006.  The company further climbed up the scale in Spain – position 9 end 2006 vs. 11 end 2005 and 8 in Q4 2006 - including market leadership in the 22-inch wide segment as well as several Top 5 positions for monitors of 20-inch and above.  

The Swedish team registered one of the most striking growths, from 8.4% and rank 5 to more than 15% and position 2; This highly contributed to the global growth in the Nordic region where ViewSonic is leading the market in 22-inch wide (68% in Finland, over 41% in Norway) and 23-inch (>28%) in Finland, and ranks at position 3 for wide LCDs in Denmark.

In the UK, ViewSonic is now number 7 – up from number 9 end of 2005 – and not only the market leader in the 22-inch wide category, as the company also holds second place for 20-inch wide with more than 20% market share, less than 1% behind market leader.
