ViewSonic presents two new commercial HD displays
VX2835wm and CD3200: Cost-effective displays for digital signage solutions where space is at a premium

18th September 2007 – ViewSonic, a worldwide leader in visual display products, unveiled today two new additions to its digital signage solutions: The HD 28” (27.5” viewable) VX2835wm and 32” (31.51” viewable) CD3200. Both models are designed to meet the needs of demanding customers who are looking for cost-effective digital signage solutions. Despite their compact dimensions, each display incorporates high performance technology and attractive and timeless design. Both the VX2835wm and CD3200 are based on LCD technology that is well suited for static content and animated presentations alike.

The VX2835wm is the new specialist for high-definition content. With its native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a very fast response time of 3ms, a high contrast ratio of 800:1 as well as a brightness level of 500cd/m², this model is designed to ensure excellent colour quality and crisp characters – no matter if the application is a quotation ticker, movie, video clip or a presentation.

The CD3200 scores with advanced image optimising features such as auto picture control (APC), auto progress system (APS), aspect ratio control and a state-of-the art digital 3D comp filter as well 3D de-interlace. These features are designed to ensure that the image will be free of artefacts and ghosting. A high 1000:1 contrast ratio, 500cd/m² brightness and wide viewing angles provide vivid colours and sharp pictures from all angles.

For convenient control from afar, the CD3200 comes with a RS-232 connector which allows for the remote control and viewing of the main functions and status.

Thanks to the integrated OptiSync electronics, these two new commercial displays handle signals from PCs and Macs as well as all video signals such as PAL, SECAM, NTSC, SDTV/EDTV and HDTV. The VX2835wm even displays 1080p signals.

Numerous analogue and digital (with HDCP) inputs including component, PC-VGA and HDMI make sure a wide range of SD and HD video sources can be easily connected. With the picture-in-picture function, these displays can even handle two separate inputs signals simultaneously.

When installed in public areas, the OSD and power lock function will be highly appreciated. The OSD lock function prevents unauthorised changes to the menu settings, so that once set-up, the image remains as adjusted. The power lock function, meanwhile, prevents the monitor from being inadvertently switched off which is designed to ensure that the information is always on display.

Both displays offer a VESA wall-mount interface and an integrated fan-less power supply which makes installation flexible and quite simple.

The VX2835wm comes with built-in stereo speakers and delivers powerful 6-watt audio sound. For the 32” CD3200, a stereo speaker kit can be optionally installed at the bottom of the display, thereby saving horizontal space.

With a typical power consumption of 64 watts the VX2835wm is also very economical and helps to reduce the total cost of ownership. The VX2835wm also meets the strict regulations for TCO’06.

For both displays, the warranty can be optionally upgraded to comprise a five year on-site customer exchange service.

The commercial HD displays VX2835wm and CD3200 will be available from authorised resellers.
