ViewSonic transforms desktop monitors into advanced home entertainment displays

Introduces NextVision High Definition Video Processor Boxes

ViewSonic Corporation, a worldwide Visual Technologies^™ leader, today unveiled its NextVision^™ line of video processor boxes with the introduction of the NextVision N5 and the NextVision N6. These new home entertainment products enable consumers to extend the use of their display products, such as monitors, LCD TVs or Plasmas, to the latest forms of digital entertainment, including high definition TV (HDTV). The N5 is already available; the N6 is expected in April.

The NextVision 5 enables consumers to watch TV from any LCD display or CRT monitor with enhanced picture quality at multiple resolutions up to 1024x768. Its stylish design can be placed horizontally or vertically on any surface - thereby saving space.

Both the Nextvision N5 and N6 processors improve DVD movie video quality with 3:2 pull down correction, they also enable users to watch TV or DVD movies with or without a computer (RGB computer pass-through). The processors include a 181-channel TV tuner, S-video, composite video, and the ability to easily connect to DVD players, VCRs, video camcorders and high-resolution game consoles, such as the Microsoft Xbox, Sony Play Station 2 and Nintendo Game Cube. For added convenience, the products also ship with a remote control and provide options for parental control and closed caption viewing. Other features include stereo audio pass through, an on-screen control menu, and a sleep function mode.


The NextVision 6 transforms displays that support up to 1280x1024 resolution into HDTV and digital television (DTV) monitors through component video input connections (YPbPr).

The two products are backed by a one-year replacement warranty.
