Designer LCD monitors at an attractive price:
ViewSonic now offers five new VE series models for price-conscious target groups.
LCD monitors do not require exceptionally high-powered features for typical office use. Their greater worth is placed on good price-performance and ideally also offering an appealing design. ViewSonic serves exactly this market segment with its VE Series, a reasonably-priced standard range whose five new contemporarily designed models are poised to catch the eye of even more customers.
The new VE Series LCD monitors are available with screen sizes of 15", 17" and 18". Boasting an ultra-slim, timeless design, all models will integrate perfectly into modern home or office environments. Whereas in the past angular CRT monitors took up a lot of space, these models have the smallest footprint and also consume markedly less energy than conventional CRT units. Because they emit scarcely any electromagnetic radiation or heat, the members of the VE Series are also a first choice for reasons of ergonomics and working environment. The 15" and 17" VE155 and VE175 models will be first available in classic business beige (black versions of both models expected later this year), and the 15", 17" and 18" VE500, VE700 and VE800 models in a matt black finish with a metallic-silver bezel.
The new models, all with analogue interfaces, give viewing angles of between 120° - 170° horizontally and 110° - 170° vertically, depending on size/model, suitable for everyday office use. With brightness levels between 230 - 260 nits and contrast ratios between 450:1 and 550:1, they produce crisp, clear images in vivid colours. The native and optimal resolution for the 15" versions is 1024 x 768 (0.8 megapixels) and that of the larger models 1280 x 1024 (1.3 megapixels).
All monitors are PC and Mac compatible and TCO '99 or TCO '95 certified. They comply to ISO-13406-2, class 2 standard, which protects customers by clearly defining important visual ergonomic elements such as acceptable contrast, brightness and pixel errors. It is the most effective and comprehensive standard currently available. Furthermore, all models are backed by the ViewSonic three-year on-site warranty in most European countries.
The new models are expected to be available starting in May / June.
