ViewSonic unveils new LCD screens featuring revolutionary MVA technology Display technology specialist introduces SuperClear VP150m and VG175
ViewSonic, a leading provider of display technology, has announced the expansion of its award-winning ViewPanel LCD range with the launch of the VP150m and VG175. Both displays are the first to utilise ViewSonic's SuperClear MVA technology, the latest in LCD screen technology and innovation.
The new screen technology combines the best of high contrast imaging with revolutionary multi-domain vertical alignment, improved response time, and excellent brightness to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience.
The SuperClear MVA technology delivers superior on-screen performance and enhanced clarity, detail and colour depth. Both displays provide vivid, realistic colours and superior image quality and have been designed for users of demanding applications such as DTP, detailed spreadsheet use and full Internet page viewing.
In an effort to further improve display performance, ViewSonic has developed an advanced liquid crystal panel technology, 3X-LCD, which dramatically increases video response time up to three times faster than existing LCD technology. This makes both displays ideal for gaming, DVD and Internet streaming video.
Russell Cole, Product Line Manager for LCDs and Projectors at ViewSonic Europe said: "Once again, ViewSonic has shown itself to be the true technology leader in the European display market. We were amongst the first manufacturers in the world to bring LCD and digital display technology to Europe and now we will be the first to introduce MVA."
"At ViewSonic we understand the importance of the visual computing experience when viewing and manipulating data from detailed spreadsheets, streaming Internet video, DVD and multimedia presentations. This is why we have introduced the new SuperClear MVA LCDs for faster response times, image performance and wide viewing angles."
The first ViewSonic LCD to feature MVA is its flagship display, the VP150m. This ViewPanel is capable of receiving both analogue and DVI-compatible digital inputs, ensuring that users have the flexibility to connect to the digitally equipped solutions of tomorrow.
The performance of the VP150m is of an exceptionally high quality, displaying a true XGA resolution of 1,024 x 768. The display also rates 250-nits brightness with a stunning contrast ratio of 600:1 (typical).
The VP150m has a number of productivity-enhancing features including one of the most ergonomically designed stands in the display industry, giving users the possibility to adjust the height, tilt and swivel position of the screen, along with pivoting between Portrait and Landscape image orientations.
The display also features bezel-mounted speakers, is compatible in both PC and Mac platforms and is fully PC '99 and TCO '99 compliant.
Russell Cole, said: "The VP150m is the display of the future and is ideal for use in environments where space is at a premium, such as banking, laboratories and offices."
ViewSonic has also complemented its LCD range with the addition of its first 17" LCD, which also features groundbreaking MVA technology.
The VG175 ViewPanel features a 17.4" screen, which is comparable to many 19" CRTs. The display is equipped with two analogue ports, enabling the display to be connected to two separate devices, such as PC's or Mac's with a simple toggle device selection. The display also features a superb 160-degree (vertical and horizontal) viewing angle - making it ideal for presentation use.
The price-competitive VG175 displays images at a crisp, clear resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 and a 600:1 contrast ratio, whilst brightness is 230 nits.
Russell Cole, said: "The VG175 has been designed for users who require a large LCD screen, but don't want to break their budget. The ViewPanel can display up to 16.7 million colours and its high-performance makes it perfect for graphic, word processing and spreadsheet applications."
To reduce set-up time, whilst maintaining full functionality, both the VP150m and VG175 have easy to use digital OnView® controls for precise display settings. In addition, the displays are TCO '99 certified, PC '99 compliant and feature Plug & Play in both Mac and PC environments.
Both displays are backed by a three-year Express Exchange, on site, swap-out warranty and will be available in October.
