ViewSonic launches LCD ThinEdge series for professional users - and a 22" model with 9.2 mega pixels

ViewSonic Corp., a worldwide Visual Technologies leader, today announced the addition of a new design series to its high-end LCD display range for the professional sector. With ultra-slim bezels of just 1.5 cm, the models - available in a choice of beige or midnight grey - are real attention-grabbers. The highlight of the series is, however, the new 22" ViewSonic flagship model VP2290b with a classic design, featuring a 9.2 million pixel resolution (3,840 x 2,400).

New ThinEdge VP series
Banks, insurance agencies and trading centres often require lots of high-end LCD displays that need to be located next to each other to provide employees with a vast array of information at a glance. With its new professional series models, ViewSonic is catering for this market. The extremely slim bezels and rectangular form make these displays ideal for setting up side-by-side.

Excellent brightness, contrast ratios and response times, ensure these new top-of-the-range displays make a striking impression even for fast-moving images. Viewing is distortion-free and in brilliant, rich colour.

The 17" to 22" models are equipped with both analogue and digital inputs. With the exception of the 22" version, users can adjust the display's height to suit their seating environment. Screens may also be rotated 90° from landscape to portrait format and vice versa. Software included with the monitors ensures that the image aspect is automatically adjusted to suit the mode selected for perfect viewing at all times. To avoid accidental or unwanted changes to the display settings, all models are equipped with a quick access OSD lock. In addition, a power lock feature prevents the monitor being inadvertently switched off. The 17" to 21.3" models comply with VESA specifications and can be easily mounted on a wall or attached to a pivoting arm with the help of optionally available kits.

Highlight: 22" version with 9.2 mega pixels
With a somewhat different design, but ultimate levels of performance, the 22" VP2290b flagship commands attention. This exceptional display will even enthuse film restorers and rendering professionals. The 16:10 widescreen model with two TMDS interfaces attains a maximum resolution of 3,840 x 2,400 pixels (QUXGA-W). With over 9 million pixels, this is five times more than conventional LCDs of this size. The screen enables even the finest of details to be shown with extraordinary true-to-life colour, clarity and sharpness. High brightness and contrast values further enhance this top model. And thanks to horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 170°, the display doesn't lose its brilliance even if being observed from the sides.

"ViewSonic is an established premium brand in the business sector. With the new professional series LCD displays, we emphasise our ambition to extend our share in this very attractive market segment. Not only the 22" flagship model VP2290b but all of the new displays in this series embody the latest technology for even more performance and ergonomics," comments Russell Cole Product Manager LCD at ViewSonic Europe.

The models are expected to be available at specialist retailers by late March / early April and are backed by the ViewSonic three year warranty.
