Warranty Information (Updated 11 June 2008)

ViewSonic® Limited Warranty
for European Union (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal) and EFTA (Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland) only. Outside these countries, please check the warranty at your local reseller.

ViewSonic provides customers with the security of a manufacturers warranty against defected products. The type and duration of the applicable warranty service varies by product type and can also vary on an individual basis according to customer requirements agreed at time of purchase.

What the warranty covers:

ViewSonic warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period. If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty period, ViewSonic will, at its sole option, repair or replace the product with a similar product. Replacement Product or parts may include remanufactured or refurbished parts or components. ViewSonic provides no warranty for the third-party software included with the product or installed by the customer and does not warrant that software will meet customer’s requirements or that operation of software will be uninterrupted or error free.

Warranty types:

A.
Dead-on-Arrival Service:
Replacement of the defective product by a brand new product free of charge! Dispatch of the replacement unit best case within forty eight (48) hrs (weekend or bank holiday excluded) after initial call at the call desk/service centre. Dispatch of the replacement unit and collection of the defective unit will be free of charge.
B.
Extra Care Service:
Dispatch of the repaired or replaced unit best case within five (5) working days after receipt of the defective unit at the service centre. Total cycle time will be 10-14 days. Customer pays to send the unit in. Dispatch of the repaired (or replaced) unit will be free of charge.
 
Projectors and Projector Lamps:
Dispatch of the repaired (or replaced) unit and collection of the defective unit will be free of charge.
C.
Premium Exchange Service:
Dispatch of a replacement unit best case within forty eight (48) hrs (weekend or bank holiday excluded) after initial call at the call desk/service centre. Dispatch of the replacement unit and collection of the defective unit will be free of charge.
D.
Retrieve-Repair & Return Service:
Dispatch of the repaired or (or replaced) unit best case within ten (10) working days after receipt of the defective unit at the service centre. Dispatch of the repaired (or replaced) unit and collection of the defective unit will be free of charge.



How long the warranty is effective:

1.
ViewSonic CRT monitor products are warranted for three (3) years parts (CRT included) and labour, three (3) years “Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days "Dead-on-Arrival Service”.

Islands (e.g. Canary Islands, Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Crete, Rhodes):
ViewSonic CRT monitor products are warranted for three (3) years parts (CRT included) and labour, three (3) years
 “Extra Care Service" and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.

ViewSonic LCD display products - purchased after the 31st of March 2008 - are warranted for three (3) years parts (LCD Backlight included) and labour under "
Premium Exchange Service" and twenty eight (28) days "Dead-on-Arrival Service".

ViewSonic Consumer Monitors (VX Series) LCD display products are warranted for two (2) years parts (LCD Backlight included) and labour, two (2) years “Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.

 
Iceland:
ViewSonic LCD display products are warranted for three (3) years parts (LCD Back- light included) and labour, three (3) years “
Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.
 
Ireland:
ViewSonic LCD display products bought prior to July 1st, 2003 are warranted for three (3) years parts (LCD Backlight included) and labour, three (3) years “Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.

ViewSonic LCD display products are warranted for three (3) years Parts (LCD Backlight included) and labour, three (3) years "

Note on Pixel Defect Policy:
For any sub pixel defect (red or green or blue) ViewSonic LCD display products are warranted to exceed the
ISO standard 13406-2 class II (See table on Pixel Performance). On pixels ViewSonic exceeds ISO 13406-2 class II requirements not allowing for any defective (permanently dark or bright) complete pixel consisting of red, green, and blue sub pixels “Zero Pixel Defect Policy” (See image on Pixel / Subpixel definition).

3.
ViewSonic Commercial Displays (CD Series) products are warranted for three (3) years parts and labour (excluding LCD panel and Backlight which are warranted for one (1) year) under “Premium Exchange Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrivial Service”.

4.

ViewSonic Projector products bought prior to April 1st, 2002 are warranted for two (2) years parts (Lamp excluded) and labour, two (2) years “Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.
ViewSonic Projector products bought prior to April 1st, 2004 are warranted for three (3) years parts (Lamp excluded) and labour, three (3) years “
Return-to-Base Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.
ViewSonic Projector products bought on/or after April 1st, 2004 and prior to January 1st, 2005 are warranted for three (3) years parts (Lamp excluded) and labour, three (3) years "
Premium Exchange Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.
 
Iceland:
ViewSonic Projector products bought on /or after April 1st, 2004 and prior to January 1st, 2005 are warranted for three (3) years parts (Lamp excluded) and labour, three (3) years "
Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.
 

ViewSonic Projector products bought on or after January 1st, 2005 are warranted for three (3) years parts (Lamp excluded) and labour.
 
For European Union (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal) and EFTA (Switzerland, Norway):
Three (3) years "Premium Exchange Service" and
twenty eight (28)  days "Dead-on-arrival Service".
All other countries:
Three (3) years "
Extra Care Service" and twenty eight (28)
days "Dead-on-Arrival Service"
This limited warranty does not cover:
1.Products for which appropriate proof of purchase by the customer
cannot be provided
2.Damage caused by incorrect use, carelessness, unauthorised
alterations, improper storage, unauthorised repairs or service or
damage resulting from the operation of the product by incorrect
supply or signal voltages. Cleaning of internal parts when used in a
smoke affected atmosphere.
3.Failures due in any parts to filters not being cleaned and serviced as detailed in the customer instruction book. In such cases the warranty will be void.
4.Damage to external parts including the cabinet.
5.Any image burn upon the polarisizers or LCD panels.
6.LCD panels; These are warranted for 36 months or 5000 hours of
usage, whichever occurs first.
 
Lamp:
The projector lamp is warranted for 1 (one) year
Extra Care Service”.
Defective lamps do not qualify the projector product for the “
Dead-on-Arrival Service” and “Premium Exchange Service”.
 
Included Parts:
Included parts e.g. remote control, cables, cases are warranted for three (3) years “
Extra Care Service”. Defective included parts do not qualify the projector product for the “Dead-on-Arrival Service” and “Premium Exchange Service”.

5.

ViewSonic NextVision™ products are warranted for one (1) year parts and labour, one (1) year “Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service
 
Germany:                                                                                                                  
ViewSonic NextVision™ products are warranted for two (2) year parts and labour, two (2) year “
Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.

6.

ViewSonic LCD-TV products are warranted for two (2) years parts (LCD Backlight included) and labour, two (2) years “Retrieve-Repair & Return Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.  
 

Included parts e.g. remote control are warranted for two (2) years “Return-to-Base Service”. Defective included parts do not qualify the LCD-TV product for the “Retrieve-Repair & Return Service”.  

7.

ViewSonic Mobile & Wireless products: Smart Displays or Tablet-PCs are warranted for two (2) year parts (Battery Pack excluded) and labour, two (2) year “Extra Care Service” and twenty eight (28) days “Dead-on-Arrival Service”.
 
Battery Pack:
Battery packs are warranted for one (1) year parts and labour, one (1) year
Extra Care Service”.

8.

ViewSonic Desktop Accessories products e.g. Keyboard, Mouse and webcameras are warranted for one (1) year parts and labour, one (1) year “Extra Care Service”.

9.

ViewSonic Optional Accessories for CRT-, LCD-, Projector- and Mobile & Wireless- products are warranted for one (1) year parts and labour, one (1) year “Extra Care Service”.

10.

ViewSonic Bundled Products are warranted according to the warranty provided for the individual items – see separate warranty terms above.


                                                                        
Who the warranty protects:

The warranty stated above will be provided in accordance to the country of warranty request and is valid only for the first consumer purchaser from the date of original purchase (Proof-of-Purchase = Invoice).

For ViewSonic products purchased outside the European Union/ FTA, the product will carry the warranty as per the country of purchase.


What the warranty does not cover:

1.

Any product, on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
2.
Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
 

A.
Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product.
 
B.
Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by ViewSonic.
 
C.
Damage to or loss of any programs, data or removable storage media.
 
D.
Software or data loss occurring during repair or replacement.
 
E.
Any damage of the product due to shipment.
 
F.
Removal or installation of the product.
 
G.
Causes external to the product, such as electric power fluctuations or failure.
 
H.
Use of supplies or parts not meeting ViewSonic's specifications.
 
I.
Normal wear and tear.
 
J.
Failure of owner to perform periodic product maintenance as stated in User Guide, such as failure to perform periodic cleaning of user-cleanable projector filters.
 
K.
Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect.
3.
Removal, installation, and set-up service charges.
   
How to get service:

1.

For information on obtaining warranty service, call your ViewSonic dealer or ViewSonic Call Desk / Service Provider or ViewSonic refer to the contact information located in each country's corresponding web site:

To obtain warranty service, you will be required to provide.
 
A.
The original dated sales slip.
  
B.
Your name.
 
C.
Your address.
 
D.
The serial number and model number of the product.
 
E.
A description of the problem.
 
F.
Mobile and wireless products, customer should provide the user name and the password in order to access the device and perform warranty service.
3.
Bring or ship the product prepaid in the original container, with the associated accessories, to ViewSonic or any ViewSonic authorized service center.
4.
For additional information or the name of the nearest ViewSonic service center, contact your ViewSonic dealer or ViewSonic.

Limitation of implied warranties:

THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION CONTAINED HEREIN INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Exclusion of damages:

VIEWSONIC'S LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT. VIEWSONIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

1.

DAMAGE TO OTHER PROPERTY CAUSED BY ANY DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT, DAMAGES BASED UPON INCONVENIENCE, LOSS OF USE OF THE PRODUCT, LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, LOSS OF GOODWILL, INTERFERENCE WITH BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS, OR OTHER COMMERCIAL LOSS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
2.
ANY OTHER DAMAGES, WHETHER INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHERWISE.
3.
ANY CLAIM AGAINST THE CUSTOMER BY ANY OTHER PARTY.

Effect of local law:

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from locality to locality. Some localities do not allow limitations on implied warranties and/or do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

Sales outside the European Union/ EFTA:

For ViewSonic products sold outside the European Union/ EFTA, contact your ViewSonic dealer or ViewSonic for warranty information and service.
