Light, Durable Aluminium-Magnesium Alloy Enclosure

Made of advanced aluminium magnesium the 1.6kg ViewSonic ViewBook Pro is light and a great companion for mobile access to your applications. The hardened alloy combined with artistic design means that the notebook will perform and look good regardless of the environment. It has been intentionally designed to meet the needs of a sturdy, practical and lightweight notebook.

7-in-1 Media Card Reader

The ViewBook Pro has an integrated 7-in-1 card reader compatible with MS, MS Pro, MS Duo, SD, miniSD, MMC, RSMMC memory cards from your digital camera, video camera, smart phone and other devices. In just seconds, photos, videos or other files can be transferred to your ViewBook Pro for backup, processing or sharing purposes. Since it is built into the laptop, you no longer need external card readers or cables that take up valuable USB ports.

Choice of Video Output

For maximum flexibility, external monitors and projectors connect easily to the ViewBook Pro through the integrated analogue VGA connector or through an all-digital HDMI 1.3 interface. The HDMI interface can transmit high-fidelity digital audio and video signals to your LCD TV or monitor simultaneously. Whilst at work or on the road, the VGA connection provides compatibility for presentations or connection to an external monitor. At home, HDMI gives optimum performance for your home theatre. The ViewBook Pro provides the best of both worlds.

ExpressCard/34 Interface

Often only seen on high-end laptops, the ExpressCard/34 slot is now available on the ViewBook Pro. With a maximum data throughput rate over 2.5Gbps and a size much smaller than conventional PCMCIA cards, the ExpressCard/34 works best for 3G network, high-speed Ethernet or special memory readers, as well as adding extra eSATA or FireWire interfaces to connect hard drives, SSDs and other external storage devices. With hot-swappable modules, an ExpressCard/34 slot with the relevant peripherals makes the ViewBook Pro is an extremely capable workstation on the road.

Integrated Super Multi Drive

The stunningly light and thin ViewBook Pro has everything you need. Although the sturdy aluminium-magnesium alloy enclosure is only 1.7cm thick and 1.6kg in weight, it has an integrated DVD burner, usually omitted by other ultra light laptops. The Super Multi Drive in the ViewBook Pro is capable of burning DVDs at 8x speed, makes double-layer DVD discs with 8.5GB capacity and is compatible with all popular disc formats. So you will save money by not buying an external optical drive and have the effort of carrying it around. With the ViewBook Pro you can backup or read discs, listen to music or watch movies with no strings attached.

The ultra thin design enables the laptop to measure only 1.7cm thick but able to run the latest Microsoft Windows 7 operating system with ease.

Limitless choice of communication options

A smart and versatile mobile computing solution, your ViewBook Pro is able to communicate with the world around you. The built-in 802.11b/g/n wireless is more than capable of keeping you connected in a school, office, café or airport. While the Bluetooth 2.1 EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) connection allows it to hook up with peripherals such as mice, keyboards, headsets or cell phones wirelessly. If you are traveling to places without a Wi-Fi service, a 3G network card in ExpressCard/34 format is perfect for you to stay in touch with the world, without strings attached.

Multi-finger Touchpad, Interactive and Natural

As computers and software evolve, becoming more sophisticated, the “keyboard plus mouse” combination can limit productivity. To achieve some tasks, you may even have to move both hands back and forth between key combinations and mouse movements. The new ViewSonic multi-finger touchpad turns complex actions into easy one-finger, two-finger or even three-finger functions. Very quickly you can drag, rotate, scroll Web pages, zoom and rotate images, launch applications or enter/exit the presentation mode.

View Sensor Protects Your Assets

The View Sensor in ViewBook Pro is smart. When it detects unusual movements, the protection measures are activated instantly to avoid serious damage. For example, when the View Sensor detects that the computer is in free-fall (being dropped), it locks the read/write mechanism in the hard drive to prevent data loss; even if the exterior is completely destroyed, you still have a good chance to recover the data. It also functions as an anti-theft alarm: activate the sensor before leaving your ViewBook Pro, and the alarm will sound if anyone touches it.
