To make auto pivot work, the communication between OS and monitor is necessary. In Mac OS X or prior version, such communication is done by HDMI signal. However, in Mac OS Sierra and later, Apple changed the behavior in which this is no longer communicated with HDMI signal. Thus, it's necessary to connect both VP2468/VP2768 and iMac by a "type A to type B" USB cable as the following.
The monitor’s OSD pivot function is only effective for the OSD window itself. Additionally, the vDisplay Manager software will be required for the operating system to automatically adjust the monitor’s orientation.
The Auto-Pivot function uses DDC/CI to communicate with the monitor. Please make sure not to turn off the monitor’s DDC/CI option in the OSD menu when you are using the Auto Pivot function.
For optimal performance, please make sure your monitor is fully up to date. If your VP2468 monitor’s firmware version is M001 or M002, please make sure your OSD Pivot and Auto-Pivot functions are, both, set to Auto.
Temporarily select a different OSD rotation option and then set the Auto option again. If the option is still greyed out, apply All Recall from the monitor’s OSD Setup Menu.
Since OSD pivot function in the OSD menu only affects the OSD menu itself. Please also install vDisplay Manager in your operating system so that your operating system screen can automatically rotate with the monitor’s orientation.
You can set the Orientation setting to Landscape/CW90°/CCW90° or disable the “Auto Pivot” application.
